ATTORNEY HIRING PROCESS
Skelton, Taintor & Abbott provides a sophisticated work environment that encourages and supports attorneys in their performance of public service.
In recruiting and retaining talented lawyers, we look for outstanding intellect as well as traits above and beyond academic achievement. We place a value on such intangibles as a demonstrated commitment to excellence.
We are committed to our associates’ success:
• Every associate is assigned a mentor who is responsible for monitoring the associate’s workload and professional development.
• Each associate meets regularly with a practice group leader to ensure that he or she is maintaining a positive work/life balance.
• Job performance is reviewed every six months for the first year of employment and then annually thereafter.
• The firm has adopted a training policy in the form of a checklist of activities each associate should observe or accomplish under the supervision of a director.
• The firm conducts in-house continuing legal education seminars.
