Darcie Beaudin is a shareholder of the Auburn, Maine firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott. Her clients benefit from her wide-ranging experience in providing counsel in matters involving:

Darcie specializes in representing creditors trying to recover from debtors in financial trouble, including creditors in large, sophisticated Chapter 11 proceedings and creditors of debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. She also has worked extensively with small businesses and small business owners to find solutions to their financial difficulties, including refinancing, reorganization, negotiation with key creditors, and liquidation or reorganization through bankruptcy. Before joining Skelton, Taintor & Abbott, Darcie worked as an associate in the bankruptcy department of a large Boston law firm, representing creditors in complex workout, restructuring and bankruptcy matters. She strives to develop a strategy to accomplish her clients’ goals in a manner that is both efficient and cost-effective.
In addition to her bankruptcy practice, Darcie drafts and negotiates commercial contracts for business clients, represents buyers and sellers in purchasing or selling business assets, and advises entities forming new businesses and nonprofit entities, including advising entities in obtaining federal tax-exempt status.
Building on her broad business background, Darcie expanded her practice to include advising employers and individuals on how to structure employee benefit plans that are in compliance with the constantly changing state and federal laws regarding employee benefits. She also counsels clients in estate planning and probate of estates.
A native of Lewiston, Maine, Darcie graduated summa cum laude from both Colby College and the Boston College School of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and Executive Editor of the Boston College Law Review. Following law school, she served as a clerk to Maine Supreme Judicial Court Justice Robert W. Clifford.
Darcie is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Maine and Massachusetts. She is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and Androscoggin County Bar Association.
Darcie also sits on the board of the Auburn Business Development Corporation. She is an active volunteer for the Maine Chapter of the March of Dimes, serving as a member of the planning committee for the Lewiston-Auburn March for Babies. Darcie also is an assistant coach of the Lewiston High School mock trial team.
